Re: VBMS - Upcoming Meetings

Dear Neighbor,

The three preliminary facility designs for VB Middle and the proposed improvements to Beach Garden Park were formally presented to the School Board last week. Before the School Board can entertain a vote, three presentation meetings have been scheduled, as follows:

1.  Meeting with Parents and PTA Members, Tuesday, Sept. 13, 7 p.m. in the VBMS Auditorium.

2.  Meeting with the Public, Monday, Sept. 19, 6:30 p.m. in the VBMS Auditorium.

3.  Also, a presentation meeting will be held on August 29 with the VBMS staff.

It is planned that the School Board Meeting on either September 6 or 20 will include information on VB Middle. This may or may not be the time when we can formally voice our opinion to the Board ( I’ll let you know for sure as soon as I know). School Board Action (vote) is currently scheduled for October 4.

The status of Oceana staying (school being built under a flight pattern) or going (which will free up many desks in nearby schools) will play a big part as to if the school is rebuilt. This thing could be a long ways from being over - just my opinion.
